About the Role
We are seeking an NVQ Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Wandsworth, a category B adult male prison. This role offers the opportunity to work as a Mechanical Engineer within a supportive and driven team that operates Monday to Sunday, committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment. HMP Wandsworth functions like a self-contained city, and the Facilities Maintenance Team plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, employees, visitors, and the wider community.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues from various trades including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators. Together, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment and support the mission to promote rehabilitation and positive change.

Experience
- Minimum two years' experience working as a plumber or in an equivalent role
- Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
- Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
- Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements

Qualifications
- Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
