About the Role
Hackney Council is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK, committed to tackling racial inequality and promoting diversity through its Anti-Racism framework. We are passionate about enabling independence and supporting residents to live safely in their own homes through our ‘Waiting Well’ approach, ensuring assessments lead to the best possible outcomes.

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Team within Adult Services. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging role that puts the customer at the heart of service delivery. You will provide excellent occupational therapy interventions that promote independence in daily living activities, with an ethos of co-production to give choice and control to our residents.

You will carry a caseload, undertake assessments using a strengths-based approach, and make recommendations for a range of interventions including educative techniques, equipment, adaptations, moving and handling, and Tech Enabled Living solutions. You will also participate in the duty rota, assisting in triaging referrals and carrying out urgent visits.

Our team works closely with social workers, health professionals, care navigators, and local assets to achieve holistic outcomes for residents. We operate within an adult social care practice framework that supports strengths-based, anti-racist, and trauma-informed care.

If you are passionate about social care, creative in your approach, and committed to our values, this role offers the chance to contribute to a forward-thinking, outcome-based organisation using digital innovation and partnership working.
