About the Role
Join our fast-paced, customer-focused Payments Team during a pivotal time of transition. You will play a key role in keeping one of the council’s essential financial operations running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This role involves providing support to service users and external suppliers while delivering outstanding service.
Your responsibilities will include processing secure and accurate information to ensure timely payments in line with KPIs, supporting and maintaining financial systems with a focus on data integrity, providing guidance and training to staff and suppliers, monitoring and resolving payment system issues, maintaining accurate and GDPR-compliant financial records, and supporting reporting, year-end activities, and process improvements.
You will be part of a dedicated, collaborative team led by the Payment Services Manager, known for their “can-do” attitude and commitment to delivering top-tier service to both internal and external customers.

Experience
- Experience in finance or accounts payable roles
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel and financial systems
- Proven ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines under pressure
- Skilled in resolving queries ranging from simple to complex

- Strong attention to detail with good knowledge of GDPR requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support service users and suppliers effectively
