About the Role
Nomura is a leading Asia-based financial services group with a global network spanning over 30 countries, serving individuals, institutions, corporates, and governments through Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Wholesale divisions. The Portfolio/Specialty Financing ASC Associate role is part of the Asset Backed and Trade Finance desk within Nomura’s Securitized Products division. This desk offers a diverse and innovative business environment focused on financing, underwriting, structuring, and risk management to deliver holistic solutions to clients. The team collaborates closely with Investment Banking and Global Markets sales to originate, execute, and distribute transactions across various jurisdictions and asset classes in Europe.

The desk specializes in non-performing loans, specialty finance, and esoteric receivables, primarily focusing on senior financing but with flexibility to engage deeper in capital structures when opportunities arise. Clients include private equity sponsors, corporate entities, and family offices, with a strong emphasis on financial sponsors. This role involves underwriting, structuring, and executing structured financings of specialty finance platforms and receivables in the EMEA region, as well as coordinating due diligence, modeling transactions, and preparing internal approval documentation.

Requirements

Experience
At least 3 years of structured finance underwriting experience within an investment bank or private equity fund. Proven project management, analytical, and credit skills. Strong quantitative and technical abilities including financial modelling.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree in Science preferred.
