We are seeking a motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join our dynamic UK Structural team within the Resilience Global Business Area. Our projects span the water and energy sectors and range from small technical challenges to large, complex multidisciplinary projects focused on sustainable design.

In this role, you will own responsibility for small to medium structural projects and sections of larger schemes. You will supervise structural analysis, design, and digital modelling; oversee preparation of design models, calculations, and reports; and provide guidance on compliance with company procedures to ensure safe, sustainable, and innovative technical work.

You will lead and mentor structural project teams, collaborate proactively with multidisciplinary peers (including geotechnical, hydraulic, M&E, and environmental disciplines), and manage deliverables through Arcadis Global Design Centres. Additionally, you will contribute to bidding, budget control, timescale management, and risk evaluation (including reputational, commercial, and CDM risks).

Experience
- Chartered status with ICE or IStructE and an honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Structural analysis and design skills in multiple materials to Eurocodes, particularly concrete and steel, including precast/prefabricated structures
- Proficiency with structural software such as ROBOT, TEDDS, Masterseries or similar
- Experience with 3D digital software like REVIT, Navisworks or equivalents
- Design experience of civil engineering structures, buildings, and soil/structure interfaces
- Experience working in design teams and managing inputs from technicians and junior engineers
- Track record of broad and innovative design experience, including use of new technologies and focus on reducing embedded eCO2
- Experience conducting independent structural inspections and assessments on site, producing supporting reports
