We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join a close and supportive Operations team within Strategic Pumping and Trunk Sewers. No prior water industry experience is required; we welcome candidates from outside the sector who bring fresh perspectives and ideas.
This essential front-line role involves performing a range of activities to ensure all plant and equipment associated with strategic pumping stations and trunk sewers in London are kept serviceable, safe, and efficient.
Key responsibilities include completing routine checks, basic planned preventative maintenance, and problem-solving to ensure smooth pumping station operations; monitoring plant efficiency and identifying trends; undertaking health, safety, and security checks; reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents including statutory testing for legionella, fire, and housekeeping; operating large storm pumping stations and mechanical equipment; completing confined space entries for inspections, maintenance, and fault finding; providing technical assistance and guidance to new and existing colleagues; and actively participating in team meetings, safety briefings, and company communications while offering constructive feedback and suggestions for improvements.
There has never been a better time to join Thames Water as we build towards a greener future, tackling climate change, minimising environmental impact, and reducing our carbon footprint.
