About the Role

The Arcadis Mobility Programme Management & Commercial Management unit is seeking highly skilled Project Planners to support the planning and scheduling of a major programme across London and the south of England. This pivotal role combines strategic planning and performance reporting to ensure successful delivery of mobility infrastructure projects including rail, highways, and aviation. You will develop and maintain project baseline plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules aligned with delivery objectives. Monitoring progress, identifying variances, and implementing recovery and contingency plans will be key responsibilities. You will report on earned value, progress, and performance to inform financial forecasting and decision-making. Additionally, you will analyse project and programme data to identify trends, risks, and anomalies while ensuring compliance with planning standards and lifecycle frameworks. The role involves auditing contractor plans, monitoring adherence to Network Rail procedures, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and driving continuous improvement through adoption of emerging digital tools.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of project planning and scheduling experience, ideally within major rail or infrastructure programmes. Proven ability to develop and maintain complex project controls throughout the project lifecycle. Experience with project controls, cost engineering, and financial operations. Familiarity with different contracting environments and commercial models.

Strong organisational, commercial, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders to deliver value and build strong relationships. Proactive in driving continuous improvement in planning processes and adopting new digital tools. A strong understanding of UK mobility sector and project delivery requirements.
Qualifications
Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering, Project Management, or a related subject. Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable. Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is an advantage. Broad understanding of rail, highways or aviation engineering, construction, and investment planning systems is preferred.
