About the Role
This role is based on the HS2 project, the UK’s new high-speed rail network designed to drive economic growth by connecting 8 of the UK’s 10 largest cities with fast, reliable services. Costain is delivering the HS2 Rail Systems Tunnel and Lineside Mechanical and Electrical Systems works across the entire HS2 route. The scope includes design, supply, manufacture, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of tunnel and lineside M&E systems, including tunnel services within shafts, tunnels, cross-passages, and low voltage electrical power distribution along the open route. Additionally, Costain will design, supply, install, test, and commission tunnel ventilation systems. The project value at award is £500m.
Reporting to the Digital Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the technical configuration and administration of Bentley ProjectWise in line with works information and instructed changes. Your key responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining folder structures, workflows, permissions, metadata rules, and automation scripts; managing data interfaces with Employer CDE systems; monitoring system performance and ensuring data integrity and availability.
You will configure and maintain managed CAD workspaces for Bentley and Autodesk platforms, manage templates, seed files, and libraries, and implement Bentley Deliverables Manager for transmittals and submittals while preparing for potential iTwin deployment. You will also configure validation processes to ensure metadata, file naming, and deliverables meet standards before submission, produce onboarding materials, conduct training sessions and workshops, and liaise with Bentley Systems and other vendors regarding issues and upgrades.
Ensuring compliance with HS2 and ISO 19650 standards, maintaining audit records, and providing system usage and validation reports to the Digital Engineering Lead will be essential parts of your role.
Experience
- Proven experience configuring and administering Bentley ProjectWise for large infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 processes and data workflows
- Experience managing ProjectWise for both graphical and non-graphical documents
- Ability to configure Bentley Managed Workspaces for MicroStation, OpenBuildings, and related CAD tools
- Strong understanding of metadata, naming conventions, and automation
- Experience creating clear user guidance and delivering end-user training through presentations and workshops
- Strong communication skills

Qualifications
- Desirable: Degree in Information Management, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience
- Bentley ProjectWise Administration training or certification
- ISO 19650 Foundation or Practitioner certification
Desirable
- Experience on HS2 or other major UK infrastructure programmes
- Knowledge of Autodesk integration within ProjectWise
- Familiarity with Bentley Deliverables Manager and iTwin
- Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting for automation
- Understanding of CDE integration with systems such as AIMS, eB/ALIM, and ArcGIS
