About the Role
The Senior BIM Coordinator role is a key position within the HRS02 Rail Systems programme, operating under strict HS2 Works Information and ISO 19650 standards. This role supports the delivery of BIM/AIM processes across the HRS02 M&E scope and provides operational support to the HRS02 BIM Lead in managing digital information throughout the project lifecycle. Acting as the primary operational contact for suppliers on BIM and information delivery matters, the Senior BIM Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day information delivery, resolving routine issues, and preparing required reporting. Strategic direction, governance ownership, and senior stakeholder engagement remain with the HRS02 BIM Lead.

Key responsibilities include acting as the main contact for suppliers on BIM and digital delivery, triaging and resolving issues related to access, modelling methodology, coordination, noncompliance, and workflow, and escalating significant programme issues as needed. The role involves monitoring digital readiness and delivery risks, coordinating updates to the Master Project Data Table (MPDT) with Design Managers and suppliers, and collaborating with Document Control, Engineering, Integration, and Quality teams where cross-functional input is required.

The Senior BIM Coordinator will coordinate the federated model across HRS02 parties, facilitate clash avoidance, detection, and resolution activities, and review alignment between models, drawings, and associated deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Attendance at design and coordination meetings as the BIM operational lead is required, along with supporting compliance of all information deliverables with HS2 and project requirements, including integration of CSM and CDM data and asset UAIDs into graphical models.

Additional responsibilities include supporting project and supply chain use of the Project Information Model (PIM) and Asset Information Model (AIM) Common Data Environments (CDEs) in line with Works Information requirements, monitoring information exchanges, providing digital coordination support to the HRS02 Interface Manager, and supporting coordination of structured asset data delivery. The role also involves preparing and maintaining digital reporting required under HS2 and Works Information processes, producing regular reports on MIDP status, information delivery performance, clash detection, non-compliance trends, and readiness indicators for construction and assurance.

The Senior BIM Coordinator supports preparation for audits and governance reviews by collating and validating required evidence and is responsible for developing, implementing, and recording BIM training to embed BIM processes, delegating tasks within the BIM team to achieve Level aspirations.

Experience
- Proven experience in BIM coordination or information management on major infrastructure or rail projects
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and Common Data Environment processes
- Experience coordinating federated models and clash detection
- Track record of developing effective relationships with colleagues and supply chain
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills including report writing and management papers
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to change
- Proactive in managing own development

Qualifications
- Minimum HND in a suitable field
- Experience in construction industry and/or design/project lifecycles
- Excellent digital toolset experience including Bentley applications
- Desirable: ISO 19650 related certification
- Desirable: Relevant BIM or digital management qualifications
- Desirable: Familiarity with HS2 Works Information and reporting requirements
- Desirable: Understanding of CDM and design risk management processes
- Desirable: Knowledge of data science and ability to derive insights from data
