PVII Review Officer - 12 month fixed term contact Part Time Salary £42,840 - £46,041 (pro rata), 3 days per week. As a Review Officer, you will carry out statutory reviews of decisions made by the Council pertaining to Housing and Homelessness, having due regard to the relevant legislation and the overall objective to prevent or relieve homelessness. To use sound judgement and understanding of best practice and caselaw, when assessing the risk to the Council when coming to decisions. Successfull applicants will be experienced with forensic knowledge of the relevant legislation (eg Housing Act 1996 (as amended), Homelessness Act 2017, Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) (England) Order 2012, Localism Act 2011 and Equality Act 2010), caselaw and Code of Guidance. You will take a ‘risk-based’ approach when reviewing cases, using sound judgement and a comprehensive knowledge of the relevant legislation. To represent the Council at Court (where required) on decisions made by the Council, pertaining to Housing and Homelessness. The Role We are looking for a part-time (3 days per week) Review Officer to support the Review's service within HPAS. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. What Newham can offer We offer flexible working, with the possibility of working from home up to 3 days a week. Your skills You will be an experienced PVII Review Officer able to undertake s202 reviews upon successful recruitment. You will receive support and training on how to use Newham's relevant systems and processes. To Apply You must submit a supporting statement through our recruitment portal.
