About the Role
The postholder will lead the strategic commissioning of services for adults with care and support needs and carers, primarily aged 65 and over, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services aligned with agreed commissioning priorities. The role focuses on enabling adults with care needs in Waltham Forest to live as independently and well as possible with choice over the care they receive. You will lead and manage a team of commissioning support staff including quality, contracts, and supplier relationship personnel. This position requires existing UK work authorisation as Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
The key responsibilities include managing relationships, contracts, and risks across markets to ensure effective commissioning and delivery of services that achieve positive outcomes for residents. You will provide effective contract management including quality assurance, audits, scheduled visits, and contract monitoring meetings with clear agendas, minutes, and information sharing. Maintaining accurate records, tracking actions, and ensuring compliance with KPIs and quality standards are essential. Non-compliance issues must be escalated and resolved promptly.
Experience
- Strong commissioning experience with knowledge of legislation, markets, and best practices
- Experience working in large, complex organisations
- Proven ability in contract management, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement
