About the Role
The postholder will lead the strategic commissioning of services for adults with care and support needs and carers, primarily aged 65 and over, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services aligned with agreed commissioning priorities. The role aims to ensure that adults with care needs in Waltham Forest live as independently and well as possible and have choice over the care they receive. You will lead and manage a team of commissioning support staff including quality, contracts and supplier relationship staff.

Key responsibilities include managing relationships, contracts and risks across markets to ensure effective commissioning and delivery of services that achieve positive outcomes for residents. You will provide effective contract management, including performance monitoring, quality assurance through provider visits and audits, and maintaining accurate records with timely communication and collaborative information sharing. Ensuring compliance with KPIs and quality standards, escalating and resolving non-compliance issues will also be part of your role.

Experience
- Strong commissioning experience and knowledge of legislation, markets and best practice
- Experience working in large, complex organisations

Qualifications
- Degree-level education required
- Relevant professional qualification desirable
