About the Role
Greenwich VIA is an integrated community substance misuse and wellbeing service seeking a dynamic and passionate Recovery Practitioner to join a busy service in a vibrant borough. The post holder will support the local Opiate, Alcohol dependent and Non-dependent substance misuse community by:
- Engaging with the local community using motivational interviewing, brief advice and intervention
- Identifying and targeting known hot spots through partnership working and joint operations
- Supporting the Royal Borough of Greenwich by gathering information from street drinkers, partner agencies and residents
- Assisting individuals into mainstream services and working with local providers to enhance provision for hard to engage populations
The role involves carrying a caseload, conducting thorough assessments of need, safeguarding service users, their families and the wider community, and planning and delivering effective treatment interventions. The post holder will deliver face-to-face and group work using evidence-based interventions.
Experience
Experience working with people experiencing substance misuse difficulties or who are vulnerable is essential.

Flexibility to work some evenings and across multiple locations is required.
