
Location
102 Petty France, London, City of Westminster. Staff are expected to attend their base location at least 2 days a week under a hybrid working arrangement, which is subject to change based on business needs.
Hours
Flexible working patterns available including full-time, part-time, and job share options. Flexible working arrangements between base locations, Ministry of Justice Hubs, and home are supported.
Salary
£33,551 per annum. The Ministry of Justice contributes £9,719 towards membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Law Commission as a Recruitment Officer within the Corporate Services Team. Reporting to the HR People Engagement Lead, you will support the delivery of recruitment and HR services across the organisation. Your primary focus will be on managing recruitment campaigns end-to-end, providing professional support to candidates and hiring managers, and ensuring a smooth recruitment process. You will also contribute to onboarding, employee engagement initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. This role offers the chance to develop expertise in recruitment and HR within a unique organisation that supports law reform in England and Wales. You will work closely with senior leaders, commissioners, and colleagues across the Law Commission to deliver high-quality, customer-focused corporate services aligned with organisational priorities.
Experience
- Experience providing high-quality administrative, recruitment, HR, or customer-focused support.
- Experience supporting recruitment campaigns or working within recruitment, resourcing, or HR environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively with strong organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling sensitive information.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

- Experience maintaining data, producing reports, or using management information to support business decisions.
