£24.48 per hour with an increase after 18 months of employment
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team on Hooper Ward, an acute 13-bed mental health service for women at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. This ward provides a safe and stabilising environment for women experiencing an acute episode of mental illness requiring emergency admission. The role offers a unique opportunity to develop skills across specialities such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other specialist pathways under one roof.
Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a specialist service for women located in the East End of London with a “good” overall CQC rating. The hospital comprises four specialist wards: Acute, PICU, Tier 4 Personality Disorder, and Complex Personality Disorder, catering to women with complex mental health needs. In this role, you will develop therapeutic relationships with service users and carers to motivate and support recovery, collaborate with colleagues to ensure safe and effective care delivery, apply skilled interventions based on assessed needs, and maintain contemporaneous records and care plans for service users.
Experience
- Experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current PIN number
- Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, and demonstrate integrity in your role
- Well informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 and up to date with latest nursing practices
- Commitment to patient recovery with the ability to effectively monitor, manage, and reduce risk
About you
- Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to empowering and supporting service user independence
- Interest in leadership, research, and assessment is desirable
- Willingness to learn and apply psychological interventions such as DBT
- Ward-specific experience, e.g., Personality Disorder, is advantageous
- Ability to deputise in a clinical lead role is desirable
