£24.48 per hour with an increase after 18 months of employment
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team on the Intensive Support Service, Upping Ward at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. Upping Ward is a 15-bed Intensive Support Service for women diagnosed with personality disorder and complex mental health needs. The service provides a robust programme of care for women exhibiting challenging high-risk behaviours and difficulties engaging with therapeutic programmes, aiming to meet their needs in a less restrictive setting.
Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a specialist service for women located in the East End of London with a "good" overall CQC rating. The hospital offers comprehensive care across four specialist wards including Acute, PICU, Tier 4 Personality Disorder, and Complex Personality Disorder. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing therapeutic relationships with service users and carers to motivate and support recovery, collaborating with colleagues to ensure safe and effective care delivery, applying skilled interventions based on assessed needs, and maintaining contemporaneous records and care plans.
Experience
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current PIN number
- Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, and demonstrate integrity
- Well-informed of the Mental Health Act 1983 and current nursing practices
- Commitment to patient recovery and effective risk management
- Ability to complete mandatory training including restraint training
About you
- Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to empowering service user independence
- Interest in leadership, research, and assessment is desirable
- Willingness to learn and apply psychological interventions such as DBT is advantageous
- Experience in wards specific to Personality Disorder is desirable
- Ability to deputise in a clinical lead role is a plus
Qualifications
- Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification with current registration (PIN)
- Completion of mandatory training as required
