Safeguarding Support Manager £49,448 – 54,882 Farringdon Overall Responsibility: As Safeguarding Support Manager you will work closely with the Head of Strategy & Support (our operational lead for safeguarding), supporting them and the broader organisation to effectively safeguard our customers in line with all relevant standards and best practice. You’ll be the go-to person for escalated safeguarding concerns and advice on applying policy and legislation, whilst also contributing to our strategic response to safeguarding and broader customer need. You’ll be responsible for the use of data and analytics across the wider Strategy and Support team; and play a key role in supporting the professional practice and resilience of your colleagues. Key Responsibility & Outcomes Coordinate the review, development, implementation and communication of safeguarding policies and procedures across MTVH. Provide advice and assurance to support the organisation to meet all regulatory and statutory standards in Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk, applying best practice in this area. Manage MTVH involvement in statutory multiagency reviews such as Domestic Homicide Reviews, Serious Case Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews; and produce or support the production of Independent Management Reviews and similar. Own the recommendations and actions arising from statutory multiagency reviews, audits, and independent reviews; advise on and support the completion of these actions. Develop and deliver an approach that allows MTVH to learn from experience, in relation to safeguarding. Working closely with HR colleagues, own the process for safeguarding-related allegations against MTVH colleagues; advising on approach, ensuring customers are safeguarded, and completing investigations as required. Identify and effectively maximise the benefits of data and information across MTVH to ensure that activity is robust and responds to customer need. Develop and implement approaches, such as reflective practice, which support MTVH colleagues to develop their own professional practice, and work effectively and safely in intense or challenging environments. Coordinate safeguarding responses to those at risk of contextual safeguarding, and contribute to thinking about how we develop our wider approach to contextual safeguarding across the organisation. Support the delivery of operational safeguarding governance frameworks and ensure compliance with internal & external standards Recruit, lead and develop an effective network of safeguarding champions across the organisation. Act as subject matter expert for safeguarding training that meets regulatory standards and best practice. Personal Competencies: Able to take an enabling approach in their work, focussing on how their role and responsibilities enable the wider directorate and organisation to work effectively and successfully. Naturally collaborative and supportive approach to building positive and productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels. Able to work with, and influence, senior stakeholders, quickly building and maintaining positive relationships Confident and enthusiastic in their work, with the ability to instil this enthusiasm in others. Open to challenge, and able to support colleagues with constructive input and challenge around their work. Thrives under pressure, and works calmly in stressful situations. Empathetic, with emotional resilience and the ability to make objective decisions in challenging situations Natural facilitator, able to flex with the needs of those they are engaging with. Skills/Experience Excellent communications skills (including written, verbal, presentations and IT literacy) Significant experience and expertise in safeguarding including development of policy and procedures, reporting, and developing good practice Experience responding to and investigating safeguarding concerns in a housing or social care environment, including allegations against employees Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks. Experience of leading a team and providing strong and effective leadership in change management. Experience participating in statutory reviews or formal investigations. Experienced or trained in delivery of evidence-based reflective practice or similar. Working knowledge of a range of issues relevant to MTVH’s work and context, such as: Domestic abuse, mental health, adult social care, Care & Support service delivery or ASB. Experience coaching colleagues, and partnering to build skills and confidence. Good data literacy, and an understanding of the role of data-driven services in a people-focussed service. Good influencing/diplomacy skills and the ability to balance competing interests and objectives, whilst supporting colleagues to do the same General Responsibilities: To understand and comply with MTVH’s safeguarding, safety and compliance policies, procedures and processes and support a positive safeguarding, safety and compliance culture across the organization. Play an active role in contributing to effective cross team working and provide cover for colleagues as required. To act at all times within MTVH’s policies, procedures and code of conduct and uphold MTVH’s commitment to Equality and Diversity Ability to travel across the MTVH area of operation, primarily London and the East Midlands. Travel likely to be required several times per month. Role can be based in any many MTVH office: Waterfront House (Nottingham); The Johnson Building (Farringdon, London); The Grange (Southgate, London); Premier House (Twickenham, London); or Trinity Court (Cambridge). This role can work from home several days per week, but flexibility will be required to meet business requirements Please note :- we do not currently offer visa sponsorship. What’s in it for you?
