About the Role
We are seeking a professional, organised, and friendly Administrative Assistant to support the smooth running of our school. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, manage communications, and provide essential administrative support to staff and leadership.
Your key responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records and managing pupil attendance, handling emails, letters, newsletters, and social media updates, supporting school events, training bookings, and resource ordering, welcoming visitors and managing reception duties, assisting with safeguarding procedures and pupil welfare, and providing general administrative support including filing, printing, and financial tasks.
Hawley Woods School provides a specialist environment primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach, with small classes of 6-8 pupils within a calm, nurturing setting. The school caters for children aged 7 to 16 years (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4). We support children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) who may be struggling with mainstream education or re-engaging after time out of school.
As part of Kedleston Group, we specialise in education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Experience
- Experience in a school or administrative role is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications
- GCSEs in English and Maths are essential.
