About the Role
At Framestore’s Oscar-winning Technology team, innovation is at the heart of what we do, whether developing new techniques, ideas, or creative ways to tell our clients’ stories. We combine talent and technology to bring life to everything we create, driven by creativity and inspired by the future.
This is a new, hands-on role where you will play a vital part in building the future of our cloud-first and machine learning strategies by writing core software and automation that drives them. You will actively develop high-availability automation workflows and build resilient big data pipelines that scale compute across the business.
You will provide cloud and systems support for developers building complex agentic applications while driving DevOps best practices to ensure our cloud services are built for the future. Your work will span cloud-native practices, machine learning infrastructure, and intelligent systems that keep our environment secure, resilient, and cost-effective.
Key responsibilities include building highly available automation workflows and orchestrators enabling distributed builds, cross-platform compute scaling, and deployment of AI agents and data-heavy models; designing event-driven automation and self-healing cloud systems that proactively detect, diagnose, and remediate infrastructure anomalies; architecting robust cloud security frameworks, identity management, and automated governance baselines across our global footprint; and designing and optimising big data infrastructure for handling large metadata datasets and media assets while identifying opportunities to reduce infrastructure spend without compromising performance.
Experience
- Designing high-availability, multi-environment cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally Terraform
- Proven track record managing cloud-based data systems such as Snowflake or BigQuery
- Strong software background, ideally Python, with experience architecting scalable services and APIs
- Building, scaling, and securing distributed automation pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) focusing on performance, caching, and testing frameworks
- Supporting engineering teams and championing DevSecOps best practices
- Strong communication skills bridging infrastructure engineering and development workflows
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience designing setups spanning cloud providers and local physical servers
- Knowledge of virtualisation of service applications
- Advanced monitoring experience with tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK
- Professional-level cloud certification
- Production experience managing complex Kubernetes clusters and high-scale Docker environments
- Experience using advanced data platform features like vector embeddings, clustering, and analytics to enrich large-scale datasets
About you
You are a proactive, innovative technologist passionate about cloud infrastructure and automation. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to building secure, scalable, and efficient systems that support cutting-edge machine learning and AI applications.
