About the Role
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) administers criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales, supporting service users and colleagues in accessing justice. As a Senior Data Architect within the Digital Architecture, Strategy and Innovation function (DASI), you will report to the Principal Enterprise Architect and work across business areas such as Crime, Civil, Family & Tribunals, Judicial and Operations or Headquarters functions of HMCTS.

Your primary responsibility will be designing data architecture aligned with the business data strategy, considering diverse data sources, information assets, consumers, and management systems. You will communicate a clear vision for government services to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring data designs meet user needs, acceptance criteria, and project constraints.

You will thrive in an agile environment, collaborating with Heads of IT Departments and multidisciplinary teams. Your role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and relationship skills to influence decision makers and manage service providers or solution delivery partners.

Key responsibilities include developing and aligning information models with business strategy, integrating metadata with wider architectures, advising stakeholders on improvements, assuring data operations, maintaining data architectural standards, engaging in information governance, delivering architectural artefacts, supporting data analytics, ensuring information security compliance, assisting in capacity planning, and contributing to procurement processes.

You will also collaborate with MoJ Digital Services and Government Digital Services (GDS) to maintain and evolve HMCTS Digital Standards and architecture knowledge base, ensuring effective and secure data solutions for the future.
