About the Role
The Digital Learning and Delivery Officer will play a key role in designing and delivering digital skills training and developing digital learning resources for Judicial Office Holders. The primary focus will be on creating and delivering training solutions to support judicial office holders in adapting to changes introduced by the Independent Review of the Criminal Courts (IRCC) over a two-year period starting October 2026.

The postholder will also help build digital confidence in judicial day-to-day digital working and new and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools introduced into court systems and processes. The role includes flexible support to wider digital learning activities within the College’s Digital Learning Service, such as filming, editing, and developing and maintaining various digital training resources.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining digital learning resources using a blend of online, face-to-face, and self-directed learning approaches; facilitating engaging digital skills sessions, webinars, demonstrations, and workshops tailored to different confidence levels; collaborating with Judicial Course Directors, Training Leads, IT Liaison Judges, senior judiciary, HMCTS, and Judicial Office colleagues to identify learning needs and priorities; ensuring accessibility and inclusive digital learning design; managing competing priorities and urgent training requirements; and keeping up to date with digital learning practices and emerging technologies to contribute to continuous improvement.

This role sits within the Judicial College and reports to the Digital Learning Design Team Manager. The Judicial College is responsible for training Judicial Office Holders and works closely with senior judiciary and government bodies to deliver accessible, timely, and operationally responsive learning.

Experience
- Designing and delivering digital training and learning resources in both online and face-to-face environments.
- Delivering training, demonstrations, or presentations to groups.
- High digital literacy and confidence using a range of digital tools such as Microsoft 365 and Teams.
- Supporting users to build confidence in digital working and adapt to new and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
- Developing clear, engaging, and accessible digital learning materials.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications
While specific qualifications are not mandatory, desirable skills and experience include:
- Experience creating e-learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Rise or similar.
- Experience designing or delivering learning related to Microsoft 365, Copilot Chat, or other AI-enabled tools.
- Experience with filming, editing, or supporting video and digital content production using tools such as Final Cut Pro or similar.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and their application in digital skills training.
- Experience working with Judicial Office Holders or knowledge of the judiciary or wider justice system.
