About the Role

The Pensions Operations Team, within the Financial Management and Control Directorate, delivers a high-quality service to the Judicial Pension Scheme through robust contract management and operational delivery of policy and legislative changes.

As the Technical Pensions Lead, you will lead the Technical Team providing expert advice on Judicial pensions legislation, regulatory compliance, governance arrangements and scheme assurance. You will ensure the pension scheme operates in accordance with legislative requirements, regulatory expectations and best practice, supporting senior leaders, trustees, pension boards and governance committees in effective decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include handling complex complaints involving maladministration or regulatory breaches, preparing governance and assurance documentation, overseeing compliance monitoring, managing regulatory change programmes, and providing technical expertise on complex pension matters.

This role includes direct line management responsibilities and leadership of the Technical Team to set direction, support performance and develop capability.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience of pension scheme governance and regulatory compliance
- Strong understanding of pensions legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience preparing governance statements, annual reports or assurance documentation
- Experience managing governance and risk frameworks
- Experience advising senior stakeholders on complex technical issues
- Experience working with pension administrators, legal advisers, actuaries and auditors
- Experience managing complex pension complaints, disputes or appeals

Qualifications
