About the Role
We are recruiting for the post of Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit, Anti-fraud and Risk Management Team within the Resources Directorate. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will have substantial experience managing a varied programme of risk-based audits and reviews, providing independent assurance on governance, risk management and internal control arrangements. You will work at a senior level with services across the Council to identify opportunities for improvement and support the delivery of efficient, effective and accountable public services.
You will be responsible for managing, planning and conducting a portfolio of audit assignments and complex reviews, analysing complex information, preparing clear audit reports and presenting findings and recommendations to management.

Experience
- Substantial experience of internal auditing, risk management or assurance activities
- Proven ability to manage a varied programme of risk-based audits and reviews
- Experience communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently and manage others while handling competing priorities

Qualifications
Ideally, you will hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification such as IIA, CIA, CMIIA, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA.
