About the Role
We are recruiting a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit, Anti-fraud and Risk Management Team within the Resources Directorate. In this role, you will manage a varied programme of risk-based audits and reviews, providing independent assurance on governance, risk management, and internal control arrangements. You will work at a senior level with services across the Council to identify opportunities for improvement and support the delivery of efficient, effective, and accountable public services.

You will be responsible for managing, planning, and conducting a portfolio of audit assignments and complex reviews, analysing complex information, preparing clear audit reports, and presenting findings and recommendations to management.

Requirements

Experience
Substantial experience of managing internal auditing, risk management, or assurance activities, including a varied programme of risk-based audits and reviews.

- Ability to work independently and manage others while handling competing priorities
- Excellent report-writing skills with strong attention to detail

Qualifications
Ideally holds or is working towards a relevant professional qualification such as IIA, CIA, CMIIA, ACCA, CIPFA, or CIMA.
