About the Role
LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider, dedicated to delivering trusted services that enable businesses and economies worldwide to fund innovation, manage risk and create jobs. With over 300 years of history and operations in 70 countries, LSEG employs 25,000 people globally and is committed to a culture of growth, diversity, and innovation.
As Senior Manager, Engineering Product Operations, you will play a pivotal role in the transformation of the Data Platforms team, a group of around 1,500 people responsible for sourcing, platforming, and distributing non-real-time data such as pricing and reference data services to financial institutions globally. This newly created role partners closely with engineering leaders to provide frameworks and operational support that enable delivery and operational coherence across engineering areas of 100–300 people.
You will report to the Head of Portfolio & Business Management for Data Platforms and may lead a small team or act as a senior individual contributor. Success in this role requires a product-led mindset combined with operational rigor, data-driven decision making, and a focus on customer outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include running governance forums and quarterly planning cycles, producing executive-level reporting and business cases, driving workforce strategy and contractor management, managing operational risk processes and control adoption, and ensuring financial accuracy, forecasting, and transparency. You will continuously challenge existing processes to find better, simpler ways to operate.
Experience
- Proven ability to run operational aspects of complex engineering organisations
- Skilled in driving planning cadences, governance structures, and delivery reporting across multi-team environments
- Strong financial acumen including budget management, forecasting, and spend analysis
- Experience managing portfolio-level risks, dependencies, and change
- Demonstrated success in shaping workforce strategies, including balancing permanent hires and contractors, managing vendor relationships, and planning for future skills needs
- Ability to build trusting relationships across engineering teams and senior leadership
- Experience producing clear, compelling business cases, board papers, and executive briefs
About you
- Product-led and data-driven decision maker who works backwards from customer outcomes
- Proactive in challenging the status quo by automating, simplifying, and improving processes
- Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
- Growth mindset with natural curiosity and continuous learning
- Collaborative, constructive challenger, and active listener
- High personal standards and accountability
Qualifications
- Familiarity with financial services, market data, or fintech environments is advantageous
- Experience with agile delivery methodologies and product-led ways of working preferred
- Recognised project or programme management qualification such as MoP, PMP, or PRINCE2 is a plus but capability is valued over credentials
- Exposure to engineering productivity metrics, cloud cost management, or technology lifecycle planning is beneficial
