About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Connect Plus Services (CPS) team, supporting the M25 London Orbital Motorway project. CPS is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty, Atkins and Egis, responsible for operating and maintaining the M25—Europe’s busiest motorway. Delivering over £100m of annual investment alongside planned and reactive maintenance, this is a complex and high-profile network requiring strong commercial leadership and effective delivery. If you are looking to progress your career in highways and infrastructure, this role offers the opportunity to work within one of the UK’s most challenging and dynamic environments.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in leading the commercial management of civil engineering works, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements. You will be responsible for managing cost, value and risk, while supporting and developing a small team of commercial professionals. You will work closely with project teams, clients and stakeholders to drive commercial performance and maximise value.

Key responsibilities:
- Prepare activity and resource schedules and analyse tender documentation
- Monitor and audit costs to ensure compliance with subcontract terms
- Critically assess, estimate and negotiate with subcontractors and third parties
- Review complex programmes (including Time-Location) and support delay and disruption analysis
- Monitor and report on commercial performance across main and subcontract accounts
- Provide commercial insight and reporting to senior project stakeholders
- Manage commercial relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Administer contracts, including issuing notices, certificates and managing change
- Lead on cost value reconciliation (CVR) and earned value reporting
- Assess variations and changes in accordance with contract conditions
- Prepare, submit and negotiate claims where required
- Produce accurate cost and value forecasts for projects
