As a (Senior) Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant, you will play a vital role in delivering major transportation infrastructure projects that improve connectivity and create lasting benefits for communities. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams, providing commercial and cost expertise to help shape the infrastructure of the future.

Your responsibilities will include providing quantity surveying, cost management and commercial support across major transportation infrastructure projects. You will develop and manage cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Supporting change control, risk management, cost assurance, and commercial decision-making will be key aspects of your role. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, designers, contractors, and clients, supporting procurement, contract administration, and commercial governance activities.

Monitoring project performance and identifying opportunities to improve value and delivery outcomes will be essential. You will provide clear and relevant cost and commercial information to clients and project stakeholders, contribute to managing project risks, opportunities, and commercial challenges, and support the successful delivery of projects throughout their lifecycle. Sharing knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement across project teams is encouraged.

Experience
We welcome applications from professionals at all career stages, including Assistant Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Cost Consultants, Senior Cost Consultants, Commercial Managers, and Cost Management Leaders. Experience or relevant academic background in quantity surveying, cost management, commercial management, or a related discipline is required. Experience within transportation, infrastructure, or the wider built environment is welcomed. Understanding of cost planning, estimating, forecasting, commercial management, or project controls is important. Experience with NEC contracts or other commonly used construction contracts is beneficial.

About you
You should have the ability to analyse information and contribute practical commercial insight. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. An interest in contributing to complex infrastructure that creates long-term value for clients and communities is important. Due to the nature of some projects and client requirements, successful candidates may be required to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.

Professional accreditation, chartership, or progress towards professional recognition is welcomed but not essential for all career levels.
