The Optimisation CoreTech Strats team builds core systems for Quantile’s client services, designing and delivering infrastructure, applications, and data pipelines that allow financial institutions to securely submit risk and trade data.
We are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to join our collaborative engineering team. You will contribute to building and enhancing systems that power large-scale optimisation runs used by global financial institutions. Working closely with Product Development and Financial Engineering teams, you will deliver reliable, high-quality solutions while developing your expertise in infrastructure systems and software engineering.
Your responsibilities will include validating and integrating financial data into optimisation algorithms, ensuring secure and timely delivery of results to clients, and developing analytics and feedback tools to improve future optimisation runs. Our technology stack centers on Python backend development, AWS services, and React frontend, with data managed across PostgreSQL (RDS), Redshift/Snowflake, and S3.
Recent projects include expanding client portals and data pipelines, integrating with trade booking systems and APIs, and creating interactive systems to simplify client constraints definitions.
Experience
3-6 years in software engineering with strong Python development skills
Experience with trade booking, middle-office, or post-trade systems and familiarity with standards such as MarkitWire, FpML, or FIX protocol
Experience building data-intensive applications using the PyData stack
Familiarity with Unix/Linux, Git, and SQL
About you
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Knowledge of financial derivatives, clearing, and basics of margin and capital regulatory requirements is desirable
Exposure to AI-assisted tools or workflow automation in a secure engineering environment is a plus
Experience across the full software development lifecycle and understanding of software design principles (including SOLID), clean code practices, and object-oriented programming
Affinity with Java and/or C++ programming is advantageous
Qualifications
Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
A positive attitude towards continuous learning and improvement
