The Money as a Service (MaaS) organization at Stripe focuses on making money programmable through funding, foreign exchange, sending, and spending. The MaaS teams build APIs and product experiences that enable Stripe users to manage money globally. Recent product launches include multicurrency balances and global payouts.

The Payments organization develops products and platforms that enable efficient payment acceptance, including APIs for payment processing, regional non-card payment options, and in-person payments. The Optimized Checkout and Link teams create best-in-class checkout experiences to enhance customer satisfaction and merchant conversion rates. The Risk Engineering team builds products to minimize financial and regulatory risks while maintaining a seamless user experience.

As a Software Engineer on the Money Movement team, you will scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, user experiences, services, and large-scale systems that reliably handle billions of money movement requests. You will debug and solve critical production issues, mentor engineers, meet directly with users to shape product changes, and collaborate across the company to build new features and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes. You will work effectively in a distributed and hybrid team environment, maintaining open communication and strong connections with colleagues.

Experience
2-12+ years of industry software engineering experience (excluding internships or co-ops). Strong coding skills in any programming language; our interview process is language agnostic. Proven ability to collaborate across workstreams and contribute to peers' success.

You are interested in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight both internal and external users. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team are essential.

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include experience building user interfaces, user research or interaction design, and designing and building APIs. These are a bonus but not required.
