About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead a strategic transformation of Supply Chain management across one of the UK’s leading Housing Associations. As Supply Chain Director, you will shape how L&Q buys, manages, and collaborates with suppliers – driving innovation, efficiency, and resilience across the organisation. You will not manage tenders or day-to-day procurement delivery but will set the strategic tone for Supply Chain activity across L&Q, operating within a ‘hub and spoke’ model. Your focus will be on developing the Group-wide Supply Chain framework aligned to corporate strategy and relevant legislation, including the approach to category management.
This key leadership role involves leading the central Supply Chain ‘hub’ team and working closely with the Commercial ‘spoke’ teams and wider business to ensure full implementation and continuous improvement of the Supply Chain framework.
With increasing operational complexity and regulatory demands, L&Q requires a strategic leader to bring clarity, consistency, and innovation to Supply Chain management. This role is critical to ensuring procurement activities are compliant and future-ready, supporting L&Q’s mission to create better homes and communities.
You will lead a small but high-impact central Supply Chain team and provide strong leadership, performance management, and direction to the commercial ‘spoke’ teams. Collaboration with senior leaders across the business and representation of L&Q externally in industry forums will be key aspects of the role.
Your impact in the role includes:
- Defining and delivering a Supply Chain framework aligned with L&Q’s long-term goals
- Leading the development of a robust category management approach to streamline vendor relationships and reduce risk
- Overseeing the central hub to ensure seamless collaboration and compliance across all spoke teams
- Driving continuous improvement through spend analysis, standardised processes, data, and technology enhancements
- Ensuring risk identification, assessment, and controls in collaboration with Commercial spokes and wider business
- Building resilient and responsive supply chain relationships with internal departments and external partners
Benefits include:
Excellent pension plan (up to 6% double contribution), 28 days annual leave rising to 31 days with length of service plus bank holidays, Westfield Health Cash Plan, non-contributory life assurance, up to 21 hours volunteering paid days, lifestyle benefits, Employee Assistance Programme and more.
