About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and practical individual to provide effective and responsive administrative support for allocated operational activities in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. You will be expected to take ownership of the role and contribute feedback or suggestions to improve the effectiveness of the Support Officer position.
The Havering Telecare Centre provides life-saving devices and assistive technology to elderly and vulnerable residents across the borough. The service includes installation and response to falls and other medical emergencies.
Working closely with Adult Social Services, the NHS, and other partner organisations, you will handle referrals, support safe hospital discharges, and help individuals live independently despite health challenges or difficult life circumstances.
The service also manages Havering Council’s Building Alarm Monitoring Team and the Out of Hours service.
This is a permanent, office-based position.
Experience
Previous experience in an administrative or support officer role is required. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, is essential. Effective and professional communication skills via phone and email are also necessary.

You should have great attention to detail and a common-sense approach to your work. You must be proactive, take ownership of your responsibilities, and be willing to contribute ideas to improve the service.
Qualifications
