Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, SE6 4RU, London Borough of Lewisham. This role operates a hybrid working approach with a combination of office and home working.

Hours
Full time with weekend working required.

Salary
£33,384 to £34,488 per annum (SC SC4). All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point for the grade unless matching current salary with evidential proof.

About the Role
Join the Mental Health Social Care service as a Support Worker within a specialist hoarding sub-team. You will provide direct support to residents and families affected by hoarding disorder, helping them address the harmful impact of hoarding and enabling safer, more independent living in the community. Your role includes supporting adults with a history of trauma to take control of their environment, exercise choice, and achieve wellbeing goals. You will provide hands-on assistance with decluttering plans and clearing homes, using a strengths-based approach to empower individuals to help themselves. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to people living with hoarding and self-neglect through compassionate, persistent, and creative engagement within a multi-agency environment.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with vulnerable adults in health, housing, social care, mental health, or community settings. Understanding of hoarding behaviours, self-neglect, safeguarding, and risk management.

Compassionate, resilient, and highly motivated. Excellent communication and engagement skills with the ability to work creatively and persistently with individuals who may be resistant to support. Strong partnership-working skills and ability to operate within a multi-agency environment. Good record-keeping and organisational skills. Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice.

Qualifications
A relevant qualification is required. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
