About the Role
We are recruiting for a Swimming Instructor to join Tower Hamlets Leisure Services. If you are passionate about helping children and adults develop essential swimming and water safety skills, committed to delivering high-quality lessons, and hold a Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification or STA Level 2 certificate in Teaching Swimming, we would love to hear from you.

In this role, you will:
- Deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality swimming lessons to participants of all ages and abilities including parent and baby classes
- Assess swimmers' progress and maintain accurate records in line with the Swim England Learn to Swim framework
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants by adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and pool operating procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers, and partner organisations to promote swimming participation and progression within the community

Experience
- Planning and delivering swimming lessons for children, young people, and adults in a structured aquatic environment
- Knowledge of swimming teaching standards, water safety, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety legislation relevant to swimming pools

About you
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate learners and build positive relationships with participants, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends where required

Qualifications
- Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification or STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming (essential)
- Swim England Parent and Child Qualification or STA Parent and Baby Swimming Qualification (desirable)
- Experience teaching parent and baby, preschool, adult, or disability swimming lessons (desirable)
- Experience working within a local authority leisure setting (desirable)
