About the Role
Are you interested in people and curious about why they do what they do? Do you want to help others become the best version of themselves while discovering the best version of yourself? If you have leadership qualities, this role is for you. Daylight supports people with profound and multiple learning disabilities through strength-based work and maximising independence via focused activities. Our support includes maintaining and improving health, learning and enterprise opportunities, sensory stimulation and storytelling, intensive interaction, and specialist communication.

We are seeking a Team Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will line manage a small group of Support staff, providing guidance and support to improve the quality of life of our residents. You will assist the Deputy Manager and Manager with day-to-day operations to ensure smooth, high-quality service delivery. As part of the management team, you will have the opportunity to bring creativity and help shape the practice and future direction of Day and Community provision.

Islington is a diverse and culturally rich borough. As a council, we are committed to challenging inequality and creating a more equal Islington where everyone has an equal chance to thrive. Our values—collaborative, ambitious, resourceful, and empowering (CARE)—guide everything we do. We offer up to 31 days leave per year (increasing to 36 days after five years of local government service), flexible working arrangements, learning and development opportunities, competitive pay with a commitment to the London Living Wage minimum, an excellent pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, discounted gym memberships, and local discounts.

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workforce where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination and harassment and actively promote equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work.

Employment is subject to pre-employment checks including proof of address, right to work in the UK, references, occupational health clearance, professional qualifications, and an enhanced DBS check with adult barred list where applicable. We are committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.

Islington Council operates a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum criteria and provides support for reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and career.
