About the Role
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced, and driven individual to work within the Ophthalmology Admissions Team as a Band 4 Team Leader. This role is ideal for those who wish to develop their career and gain more experience in managing patient pathways, waiting lists, booking theatre lists, and staff supervision. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be proactive in their approach, possess great organizational skills, and be able to resolve issues across theatres, pre-operative assessment, and patient liaisons. Focus on teamwork is essential, along with the ability to manage one’s own workload and priorities while providing training and leadership to other team members. A mature attitude with good problem-solving abilities and a flexible, can-do approach is required.

Experience
Essential criteria include previous experience working in an outpatients or admissions setting, experience in a customer service environment, and familiarity with surgical pathways. Desirable criteria include staff management experience.

About you
You should be proficient in the use of IT systems and applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Confidence in making decisions when dealing with competing priorities is crucial, along with effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including formal presentation skills, influencing, and negotiating. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.

Qualifications
Essential qualifications include a good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent, educated to diploma level or NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in business administration or equivalent, and evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development.
