About the Role
Join the London Borough of Bromley as a Team Manager within the Referral and Assessment Service, a key part of our commitment to prioritising children and young people in the borough. The Referral and Assessment Teams receive all new referrals from the Bromley MASH and undertake Child and Family assessments to determine how best children’s needs can be met. There are 7 teams, each led by a team manager and consisting of 5 social workers. Teams rotate duty weeks every 7 weeks, during which social workers receive new allocations. As a Team Manager, you will oversee and manage approximately 50 families at any given time.

Bromley has invested significantly in staffing to ensure social workers maintain manageable caseloads, with an average of 8 families per social worker. Our social workers are motivated and supported to deliver high-quality social work interventions.

New starters benefit from a dedicated two-week induction programme and work within small teams of five Social Workers/Senior Practitioners led by a Team Manager. Senior managers are accessible to provide support, and dedicated time is set aside for quality and reflective 1-1 supervision.

We work within a relationship-based practice framework and seek a passionate social worker who can build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

With your leadership and dedication, we aim to continue delivering high-quality social care services as outlined in our improvement and transformation plan. In return, we offer a supportive environment with manageable caseloads, generous leave, excellent learning opportunities, and easy access to leadership.
