About the Role
The Turnaround Specialist Practitioner role is part of the Turnaround programme, an early intervention and prevention initiative led by Local Authorities in England and Wales and supported by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). The programme aims to reduce the number of children entering the Criminal Justice System.

In this role, you will deliver voluntary community-based, intensive support to children, young people, and families where there is an emerging risk of extra-familial harm or a risk of offending and Anti-Social Behaviour. You will assess the needs of children and families and plan and deliver evidence-based support using a systemically informed practice model.

You will work collaboratively within an inter-disciplinary service to promote the educational and emotional development and wellbeing of children and young people.

Experience
Knowledge of current practice and service development issues concerning children and young people who offend and their families.
Experience engaging and supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families.
Ability to produce high-quality evidence-based assessments.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
