Salary
£57.52 per hour (includes contact time, preparation, marking, and annual leave). Additional marking, moderation, and content development paid at £27.32 per hour, subject to prior agreement.
About the Role
The University of Roehampton is seeking Visiting Lecturers to join the Life Sciences team to teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Public Health, Health Psychology, and Health Epidemiology, with a particular focus on the control of infectious diseases. The role involves leading and delivering modules, contributing to student project supervision, and providing pastoral care. We encourage a blended learning approach combining lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and student-led discussions. The curriculum supports employability and skill-led experiential learning, with resources already established for most teaching activities. Successful candidates will contribute to student engagement beyond scheduled contact time and support good student outcomes.
Experience
Experience in blended teaching approaches including lectures, seminars, practical sessions, and student-led discussions at undergraduate level. Experience supporting students and marking assessments is essential. Industry experience and familiarity with online learning environments are desirable.
About you
Student-focused with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Able to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team. Interest in new monitoring and diagnostic technologies related to infectious disease control is highly valued.
Qualifications
Relevant academic qualifications in Public Health or related fields. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
