Joining our Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) team, you’ll be part of impactful projects from the start. Our ICT team combines deep insurance consulting expertise with innovative technology, working across major actuarial pillars within Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance including reserving, capital, and pricing, as well as data science, process transformation, risk and regulatory, climate, exposure management, underwriting, and claims analytics. This eight-week internship offers hands-on experience delivering real client projects and research/product development.

During the internship, you will use data science techniques to analyse data and produce insightful results, present your analysis internally and to clients, collaborate with UK and global colleagues, and build your core technical skills through hands-on experience and team support. You will deliver data science projects involving development, assessment, and deployment of machine learning models, writing high-quality code, and learn to apply open-source tools alongside WTW’s proprietary insurance technology solutions widely used in the market.

You will also benefit from structured early-career training and ongoing learning from subject matter experts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to understand what to expect from our graduate programme, with many interns returning as permanent team members after graduation.

Experience
Interest and experience in coding or data-processing languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar. Familiarity with recent advancements in Machine Learning and Generative AI is advantageous. Comfortable using AI tools to support work, understanding their strengths and limitations. Exposure to concepts like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI is beneficial but not required.

About you
Highly numerate and analytical with a passion for drawing value from data and solving complex commercial problems. A clear and confident communicator able to make complicated ideas understandable and engaging for diverse audiences. Personable, approachable, motivated to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team. Eager to learn and develop new ideas.

Qualifications
Currently in your penultimate year of university. On course to achieve a 2:1 degree or above. A-level Mathematics at grade A or above, and at least 136 UCAS points across three A levels or equivalent qualifications (e.g., AAB or A*AC).
