About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London. The Admissions Officer will lead on tracking patient pathways, ensuring treatment is provided as soon as possible while meeting national targets. This role involves managing inpatient admissions, responding to patient queries, and liaising with various clinical and managerial staff. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a direct positive impact on patient experience within the Trust.
Experience
Extensive business administration experience demonstrating an understanding of key functions in providing admin support. Experience working in a customer service setting is essential. Desirable experience includes an administrative role within the NHS.
About you
Proficient in IT systems and applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary staff. Ability to handle difficult service users and challenging situations while working methodically in a busy environment.
Qualifications
Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent. Educated to diploma level or NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in business administration or equivalent. Evidence of formal further training in short courses and significant experience in hospital administration is required.
