About the Role
As an All-Day Dining Host at the Gallery, The Savoy, you will be accountable for creating exceptional and memorable guest experiences that reflect The Savoy’s legendary standards of service and consistently deliver against Forbes Five-Star expectations across our Food & Beverage outlets. You will anticipate guests’ individual needs and preferences, delivering intuitive, personalised and gracious service with genuine warmth, confidence and attention to detail. Acting as an ambassador for The Savoy, you will bring our heritage, stories and Food & Beverage experiences to life through engaging and knowledgeable conversations with guests.
You will demonstrate exceptional knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, beverages, promotions and experiences to provide thoughtful and tailored recommendations. Taking personal ownership of the guest journey, you will recognise opportunities to create special moments and lasting memories, responding confidently and discreetly to individual requests. Maintaining an impeccable professional presence and presentation at all times, you will reflect the elegance, grooming standards and sophistication expected of a Savoy colleague.
Your key responsibilities include delivering warm, polished and highly personalised service combining Forbes Five-Star precision with The Savoy’s genuine hospitality; welcoming and engaging guests confidently to build natural rapport; guiding guests through the Food & Beverage offering with enthusiasm and expertise; taking reservations accurately and thoughtfully; identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue through intelligent recommendations and upselling; sharing knowledge of menus, beverages, seasonal experiences, promotions and The Savoy’s rich heritage; working collaboratively across Food & Beverage and the wider hotel to ensure seamless guest experiences; taking ownership of guest requests and concerns with professionalism and discretion; upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, food safety and health & safety; ensuring all guest-facing materials are accurate and well presented; and contributing positively to a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement as part of the team.
Experience
1-2 years serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment
About you
Passion for and understanding of 5-star hospitality and what it takes to deliver it
Empathetic with a talent for building rapport and reading each guest’s desired level of interaction
Quick thinking, resourceful and able to solve problems ‘in the moment’
Ability to remain calm and courteous at all times
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment
Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
Willing to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
Excellent spoken and written English
Qualifications
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of a POS system
- Basic knowledge of Seven Rooms and OpenTable
- Industry related certifications (e.g. WSET)
- Basic knowledge of a PMS system (Opera)
