About the Role
Join Raffles London at The OWO on Whitehall, a landmark Grade II* listed Edwardian building blending heritage with luxury. As a Bartender at the Guards Bar, you will be responsible for setting up and stocking the bar for service, producing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to the highest Raffles standards. You will lead and support bar backs and assist waiters and floor staff during service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences from arrival to departure. Working closely with bar management, you will help develop, create, and implement seasonal menus and specials.

Your duties include expert knowledge of the Guards Bar menu and products, rapid and accurate delivery of food and beverage orders with clear explanations, assisting floor staff with table settings, and maintaining bar and back-of-house stock levels. You will prepare cocktails, wines, spirits, and soft drinks professionally, engage with guests to take additional orders or refill drinks, and ensure food safety standards are met. You will also communicate guest feedback to bar staff and commit to sustainable practices in waste management and purchasing.

Additional responsibilities may include covering for line managers or senior employees and working in different departments or restaurants as required.

Health and Safety
You will be expected to report and rectify hazards immediately, be fully conversant with departmental Fire, Emergency, and Bomb procedures, and ensure the safety of all persons and property by adhering strictly to laws and anticipating hazards. You will also promote health and safety awareness within the department.

Requirements

Experience
A proven track record of providing high levels of service under pressure is essential. Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5* or equivalent standards is desirable.

Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task while maintaining an immaculate and professional appearance. Willingness to contribute to a 24-hour operational schedule when required.
