This 36-month Level 6 Trading Standards apprenticeship offers a unique chance to work alongside the Trading Standards team, supporting enforcement of consumer protection laws across a wide range of areas including product safety, tobacco and vape regulations, pricing, and weights and measures. You will play a special role in assisting with the enforcement of new tobacco and vape legislation coming into effect from 2027.

You will work in a supported learning environment with dedicated time each week for your studies, access to tutors, and a network of colleagues to support your development. This role provides a nationally recognised qualification as a Trading Standards Professional (Tobacco and Vapes legislation) while gaining valuable practical experience in public service enforcement.

Experience
No prior experience in Trading Standards is required. Enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to public service are essential.

  - Be an Islington resident
  - Be an Islington care leaver

  - Be connected to Islington through completion of studies at an Islington college or university in the last 2 years (graduate/degree level positions only)

Qualifications
- Must not already hold a qualification at a similar level or above in this apprenticeship subject
- Must not have extensive skills or experience in this apprenticeship subject
- Must pass the course entry tests, including Maths and English
- Provide evidence of minimum qualification requirements:
  - 2 A levels (or equivalent)
  - 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English language and Maths (or equivalent)
