About the Role
Are you looking to develop your surveying career within a large and diverse housing portfolio? As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you'll support the delivery of repairs, maintenance, disrepair, voids and planned works, helping ensure residents live in safe, well-maintained homes. Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors and Property Services teams, you'll gain valuable exposure to a wide range of surveying activities while developing your technical expertise and project management skills. You will support the delivery of repairs, maintenance, disrepair and voids programmes across your region. Your responsibilities will include carrying out property inspections, diagnosing defects and preparing reports, specifications and cost estimates. You will monitor contractor performance to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required standard. Building strong relationships with residents, colleagues and stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service is a key part of this role. This position includes participation in the Property Services Out of Hours rota, which may involve working evenings and weekends.

Experience
Experience in building surveying, building maintenance or a related property environment is required. Knowledge of building defects, repairs and maintenance, with an understanding of value for money principles is essential.

You will have strong communication, organisational and customer service skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders is important for success in this role.

Qualifications
A Degree, HNC or HND in Building Surveying or a related discipline, or relevant experience is required. Candidates working towards a Building Surveying qualification are also encouraged to apply.
