About the Role
Are you passionate about helping people and making a difference in your local community? We are seeking a Food Hub Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our Food Hub in Harold Hill. This exciting role works alongside the Food Hub Supervisor to ensure customers receive a welcoming, supportive, and efficient service. You will help keep the Food Hub running smoothly by supporting operations, managing stock, assisting with events, and helping customers access affordable food and wider support services. Key responsibilities include welcoming and supporting customers, assisting with referrals, safely handling and distributing food in line with hygiene regulations, maintaining clean and organised storage and display areas, supporting deliveries and stock control, signposting customers to additional support services, completing accurate records including food safety and financial documentation, undertaking cash handling duties when required, and following health and safety policies while reporting any concerns promptly.

Experience
Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in retail, hospitality, food, warehouse, or stockroom environments.

About you
Good communication and organisational skills. Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office. A proactive, friendly, and community-focused approach. Food safety and hygiene knowledge is desirable. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
