About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Assistant Clinical Research Practitioner within our Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials (OHCT) team. The post holder will act as a patient and participant advocate, coordinating research clinics and organizing study-related care. Responsibilities include identifying strategies for participant enrollment, performing clinical assessments, ensuring adherence to study protocols, and maintaining databases. The role requires compliance with relevant regulations and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Human Tissue Act.
Experience
Essential criteria include experience of working in a healthcare or clinical research role with patient/public communication duties or a biomedical degree with public-facing experience. Experience using databases is also required. Desirable criteria include experience performing basic clinical tasks and caring for patients/participants in a professional setting.
About you
You should possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and the capability to work both in a multidisciplinary team and independently. Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to manage priorities under pressure are essential.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include NVQ level 4 or equivalent, or NVQ3 with significant experience. Desirable qualifications include evidence of education related to clinical research and Good Clinical Practice training.
