About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our Rail team is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Construction Assurance Specialist to join us on a permanent basis. In this role you will represent Mace whilst interfacing with our key client Network Rail. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will deliver construction assurance and governance for third-party and outside party works, ensuring safety and integrity of Network Rail’s infrastructure.

You’ll be responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with standards and governance, supporting constructability reviews and design risk assessments, validating interdisciplinary checks to maintain quality assurance, reviewing and approving construction phase and work package plans, collating and submitting documentation for acceptance and compliance, tracking and reporting discrepancies between planned and actual works, assisting with AMP/EIS processes for asset data exchange, identifying and reporting quality or performance issues promptly, liaising with site teams and stakeholders to drive collaboration, and maintaining site diaries while contributing to assurance reporting.

Requirements

Experience
Knowledge of Network Rail standards and assurance principles. Experience delivering rail projects and managing construction activities. Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply health and safety procedures.

About you
Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Working towards professional membership and developing commercial acumen. Awareness of sustainability and carbon considerations in project delivery. Ability to travel to sites across London.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or working towards professional membership are desirable. Commitment to continuous professional development and commercial awareness.
