About the Role
The Assistant Manager supports the Community Manager in the day-to-day management of the property portfolio to achieve budgeted revenue, occupancy, resident retention, and leasing goals. Key responsibilities include coordinating leasing and reservations activities, ensuring the property meets company standards, managing tenancy processes, and promoting resident satisfaction. The role involves generating and monitoring leasing traffic, preparing tenancy documentation, handling move-in/move-out procedures, and maintaining accurate records using company property systems. The Assistant Manager also oversees advertising and promotional activities, monitors market conditions, and works closely with the maintenance team to uphold the community’s appearance and standards. Additionally, the role includes assisting with team development, ensuring compliance with tenancy legislation and health and safety policies, and acting as the Community Manager in their absence. Participation in an on-call roster for emergency support may be required. The position demands a proactive approach to service delivery, financial oversight, and operational excellence within a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven success in driving leasing and sales performance with operational management experience including P&L responsibility and budget monitoring within the property sector or a similar environment.
- Detailed knowledge of Landlord/Tenant legislation.
- Experience motivating teams and delivering service excellence is desirable.
- Familiarity with UK Health and Safety policies is advantageous.

Qualifications
- Good general education.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with property operations software preferred; training will be provided.
- Demonstrable ability to coach and mentor team members is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
- Strong numerical skills to support financial and operational activities.
