Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients. In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Job overview Our Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) service at our Royal Brompton and Harefield sites is looking to appoint an Assistant Service Manager. The ASM will support the Service Manager in the operational delivery of ICC services. The service treats patients for cardiomyopathy, aortopathy and inherited arrhythmia as well as offering genetic testing and counselling services. The ASM is the operational lead for the ICC services on a day-to-day basis and will manage them in accordance with nationally or locally agreed objectives, targets and controls. The ASM will balance these priorities with other priorities including maintaining and improving quality standards and working within the service's resource constraints. In addition to service delivery, the ASM will manage a small team of administrators who provide direct support to senior clinicians within the service. The ASM position would be ideal for a current ASM who is looking to gain experience in a new service or for those in administrative roles seeking career progression. Above all, candidates should demonstrate a positive, independent and proactive approach to problem solving and a drive to deliver the best possible experience for our patients. This opportunity is advertised on a 6-month fixed-term basis.
