About the Role
At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities by fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be themselves—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen meaningfully to each other and our customers. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.
As Associate Director - Product Manager for Knowledge Graphs, you will lead product management for an enterprise Knowledge Graph platform that connects data and engineering teams to power analytics, search, and next-generation GenAI applications. You will advance Moody's Risk Insights business by building solutions that address new and existing problems across the organization.
Your responsibilities will include leading the structured evaluation of Knowledge Graph technologies—defining evaluation criteria, running proofs of concept with engineering, documenting trade-offs, and driving build-vs-buy decisions. You will source, qualify, and prioritize Knowledge Graph use cases across product sub-teams, maintaining a transparent backlog with clear value hypotheses, success metrics, and prioritization rationale.
You will translate ambiguous business problems into precise functional and non-functional requirements covering ontology scope, data sources, query patterns, latency and scale targets, access controls, and integration points. You will own the product roadmap for the Knowledge Graph platform, run agile ceremonies, and manage dependencies across data, platform, and application teams to keep delivery on track.
Serving as the primary point of contact for business sponsors, domain experts, data owners, and consuming product teams, you will communicate progress, trade-offs, and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, you will define onboarding paths for new use cases, drive platform adoption, and feed learnings back into the roadmap to support continuous improvement.
Our Risk Insights team is responsible for identifying new ways to leverage Moody's data to solve complex problems. This role includes scaling a Knowledge Graph that forms the foundational data infrastructure unifying and contextualizing information across the organization, powering analytics, search, and next-generation GenAI and retrieval-augmented generation applications. By joining our team, you will contribute to leveraging data, technology, and AI to make the world a better and safer place by making it harder for bad actors to evade sanctions or launder proceeds of crimes ranging from fraud to human trafficking.
Moody’s is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in sanctions, anti-money laundering, fraud, investigations, export control, or adjacent regulatory spaces with deep domain knowledge
- Strong technical literacy including ability to read schemas, review queries, and discuss data modeling trade-offs with engineers
- Understanding of graph data modeling concepts including nodes, edges, properties, ontologies and taxonomies, RDF vs property graphs, and entity resolution
- Proven track record of translating ambiguous business problems into precise functional and non-functional engineering requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to align senior business sponsors, subject matter experts, and engineering leads
- Strong project management skills including agile/scrum, backlog hygiene, dependency tracking, and risk management
- Preferred: 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2+ years on data, platform, or AI/ML products
- Preferred: Familiarity with adjacent technologies such as vector databases, semantic search, large language model and retrieval-augmented generation architectures, data catalogs, and lineage tools
- Deep expertise in artificial intelligence with experience implementing advanced AI solutions to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency
- Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering responsible AI adoption
